- How old are you?
- How old do you think I am?
- You must be a few years older than me... so I’m guessing you were born in 2000?
- Haha! You’re very sweet. So, I noticed you were reading.
- Ahhh… yes. I want to be successful, so this book caught my interest.
- I see. What does being successful mean to you?
- I want to make lots of money and get rich quickly.
- Interesting. Any reason it’s top of mind for you right now?
- I want to make money fast so I can retire my mom… She’s sacrificed a lot for me and our family.
- That’s very thoughtful of you. How about your dad?
- My parents aren’t together anymore. They’re not divorced—they’re kinda separated but they still live together. You know, it’s complicated. My family is complicated. I’ve just started college but I hope I can help my mom soon so she doesn’t have to work anymore. I just want her to be happy.
- I’m sure having you as her son brings her so much joy and happiness already. But I get what you’re saying. Just make sure that you follow an ethical path and be compassionate to yourself too, okay?
- Thank you sis, I will.
