How can I deal with rumors that aren’t true about me?
We say we want the truth, but do we really? Or do we want the version of truth that plays in our favor, protects our ego, and validates what we already insist on believing? Do we have a real appetite for the truth, or do we just like the idea of it until we have to take a bite? The truth does not change its shape to fit the person looking at it.
