Why do I have to go through so much?

Perhaps not once, but you’ve asked yourself this question more times than you can count. Spoiler alert: it’s not because you’re cursed (of course).
But it’s also not only because you’re being tested to see what you’re made of.
It’s true—no one builds strength in seasons of comfort. You don’t realize how resilient you are until life stops being gentle on you. Remember back then? The very things that felt unbearable at the time are the same things that formed you. Not by accident, but because you were built exactly to grow beyond them.
Hard seasons also have a way of stripping away what no longer fits the person you are becoming.
People, identities, habits, attachments, beliefs—they fall off as you evolve. It may feel like loss, but it’s actually a purification—not just for your inner world, but for the life that will match who you are on the other side of it.
Like gold, you are refined in fire and made more valuable because of it.
You are not randomly being called to suffer.
You are being called to awaken—to remember what you are capable of.
Not because you deserved it.
But because you can.
So the next time you find yourself asking this question again, treat it as a doorway to your next breakthrough—not a dead end. What you are here to carry, refine, and eventually give back to the world requires an upgraded version of you.
And one day, you will look back and realize you didn’t just get through it.
You became someone who could.
You bloom in crisis because of what you survived—never in spite of it 🤍
