What’s next after a chapter ends?

And then you realize that every dimension of you keeps expanding, whether you feel ready or not. When a chapter comes to a close, you have the choice to rewrite it, turn to a new one, write a completely new book… or stop. Given the same amount of time, what would you choose to do, and what would you let go of?
Just like when you move to a new home, it will never look exactly like your old one. You may want to bring some signature pieces, but chances are you won’t be able to move everything, and probably shouldn’t anyway. You’ll go through a deep cleaning, throwing out things you no longer need and feeling lighter, even though the move might feel heavy at first. You may rediscover things you didn’t realize you had, and notice what might have gone missing, even if you thought it had always been there. You may look at some old items and think… “Wow, I didn’t realize it could do this!” or “Somehow, this looks smaller than I remember!”
It doesn’t make sense to move to a new home hoping it will make you feel exactly the same. Even when you’re looking for familiarity, don’t you still want the feeling of a fresh start?

Regardless of where you’re moving next, it takes immense strength and discipline to make the move. What you have in your old house doesn’t just walk itself over to the new place. Either you do it alone or hire others to do it. But even when you hire others, you still have to decide what to discard, what to bring along, and where to place everything. You still have to use your discernment.
You can't always control how others handle the move, but you're still the one who decides what kind of home you want to create. You’re the one who’s going to live there, after all. That’s why your choices matter.

The change you want to see in your new house is also the change that needs to happen within you.
And when you remember that, you realize your sanctuary was never entirely about the house you lived in, but the home you’ve learned to create for yourself. Wherever you move next, no matter how bumpy the transition may feel at first, you can always trust in your ability to make it better ✨
